1974 | Microelectronic commences business marketing & maintaining office equipment. |
1975 | Rockwell International, one of America’s largest producers of electronic components & manufacturers of electronic calculators, appoints Microelectronic as their Australian distributor. |
1978 | Brother Industries of Japan, the importer of sophisticated electronic business equipment, selects Microelectronic as one of their Australian distributors. |
1979 | Victor Comptometer launches their large range of electronic office equipment through Microelectronic in Australia. Products consist of calculators, cash registers and computers. |
1983 | Due to ever increasing demands for high quality, reliable and easy to use electronic calculators, Microelectronic designs and arranges the manufacture of the Microelectronic calculators, which will become the “standard” in all financial institutions. |
1984 | The Commonwealth Bank issues a contract for $1.2 million worth of Microelectronic’s special calculators. This will be the only million-dollar contract ever issued in Australia for calculators. |
1985 | Westpac Banking Corporation requests Microelectronic to design a computerised system, hardware and software, to operate as a FOREIGN CURRENCY EXCHANGE CONVERTER. This will be installed in all branches involved in foreign currency trading. |
1986 | Queensland Railways commissions Microelectronic to develop software and produce the first electronic touch screen ticketing machine. The Microelectronic BM18 will subsequently be installed in the majority of railway stations in Brisbane. |
1987 | Papua New Guinea Banking Corporation requests a low cost, simple to operate proofing machine. Microelectronic designs and produces the CHEQUE ACCOUNT BATCHING SYSTEM which was used by the bank until recently. |
1988 | Against worldwide competition, Microelectronic wins a contract to design, manufacture, install and maintain Electronic Ticketing Machines for the NSW State Railway. These Ticketing Machines (BM80) will be installed in most metropolitan stations in Sydney. Until their replacement with magnetically encoded tickets, in excess of 250 million paper tickets will be sold through these machines. |
1989 | Mr E. E. Tiltins, Managing Director of Microelectronic, is awarded the Order of Australia Medal for service to small business and manufacturing. |
1992 | The NSW Chamber of Manufacturers presents an award to Microelectronic for ACHIEVEMENT AND EXCELLENCE IN BUSINESS. |
1993 | Microelectronic foresaw a need in the business community for audio visual equipment. Distribution agreements with several manufacturers of this equipment were signed. The first order is for 2000 VCRs from an Australian bank. Subsequently, Microelectonic becomes the foremost supplier of TV, VCR and DVD to the Australian business community, with 1000’s of VCRs and TVs being installed and maintained Australia wide. |
1994 | NSW City Rail commissions Microelectronic to develop a low cost and simple to operate ticketing machine. These booking office machines, installed in metropolitan railway stations, issue magnetically encoded tickets to all locations within the network. |
1995 | SHOWCASE is a special ticketing solution developed for use in Multiplex Cinemas. Microelectronic developed it in consultation with cinema operators. In Australia, it becomes a preferred ticketing system for private cinema operators due to its many features, speed of operation and reliable software. |
1996 | Microelectronic, in conjunction with an Italian partner manufactured a ticket vending machine which incorporated an optical fibre communication system and CCTV monitoring. |
1997 | As demand for electronic whiteboards increases, Microelectronic arranges for a manufacturer in Korea to build the well known 2-page and the 5-page electronic whiteboards. These boards are built to Microelectronic’s specifications and are well received by the business community in Australia. |
1998 | Microelectronic technical services expand their network of field engineers to provide maintenance and repair services on a huge range of business equipment nationwide. With a dedicated dealer network of over 400 technicians Australia-wide Microelectronic becomes well known for being able to service any brand and any model, regardless of age. Our service department is used by numerous organisations including IBM, Fujitsu Australia, Westpac Banking Corporation, St George Bank, Commonwealth Banking Corporation and ANZ Bank. |
1999 | Microelectronic moves into its new Head Office in Chatswood. Modern office and warehouse facilities provide for a more efficient support and dispatch arrangements for all customers. |
2000 | Microelectronic is honoured as the Commercial Dealer of the Year for OUTSTANDING PERFORMANCE & CUSTOMER SERVICE on Toshiba Audio Visual products. |
2003 | Mr E. Tiltins, founder of Microelectronic, joins two former Olivetti executives, Franco Fancelli and Angelo Canepa, to constitute Microelectronic Computer Systems with the initial focus of participating in the delivery of the new St George Bank teller solution. |
Angelo Canepa, a Director of Microelectronic, is awarded by the President of Italy the honour of Cavaliere, an Order of Merit knighthood. It is the highest-ranking honour and most senior order in Italy, awarded for merits acquired in the field of economics, literature, the arts, public service, social, philanthropic and humanitarian activities. | |
2004 | Microelectronic introduces the first modern banknote recycling system in Australia during a banking seminar which is received with great enthusiasm and interest by the attendees. Later in the year a full integration of the cash recyclers with a major Bank’s teller system is successfully completed. |
2005 | A tender for the supply of a Customer Select PIN solution is awarded to Microelectronic by Westpac New Zealand. The system, based on the integration of a state-of-the-art PIN Pad with a motorised card reader/writer, is the first of its kind in the Australian and New Zealand markets and will remain in operation throughout New Zealand for 10 years. |
2006 | The Commonwealth Bank, after evaluating numerous printers, selects Microelectronic, in partnership with Keycorp, for the supply and installation across Australia over 6000 thermal receipt printers by Custom, a leading Italian manufatcturer. |
2007 | Big W selects Microelectronic as a supplier for the introduction of digital signage in their stores. This multi-million dollar order is for the supply and installation of multiple electronic screens in all Big W stores |
2008 | IBM renews its contract with Microelectronic for repair and maintenance services for Westpac Bank’s business equipment. This service has been provided to Westpac across Australia by Microelectronic for the last 10 years. |
2009 | Microelectronic is selected to supply an Instant Card Issuance System for deployment at branch level of the HSBC Bank to reduce the turnaround time for issuing new and replacement cards. |
Microelectronic is selected by Doubleday Australia for the development, supply and servicing of a Mail Order Processing System with handwriting recognition applied to the postal orders submitted and automated cheque encoding / sorting. | |
2010 | First Data selects Keycorp and Microelectronic for the development, supply and service of over 600 units of the Microelectronic motorised card reader / encoders to deploy across Credit Unions and Building Societies in Australia. |
2011 | The Westpac Group, after evaluating all of the teller cash recyclers available on the Australian market, selects Microelectronic and CTS Cashpro for the supply and service of the CM18 TCRs to its branches nation-wide. The TCRs are fully integrated with the Westpac Retail Banking platform from day one. |
2012 | Westpac New Zealand selects Microelectronic to extend its Customer Select PIN project to support smartcards in compliance with the current EMV standards throughout its branches. |
2013 | Microelectronic takes out its first silver sponsorship for the St George Foundation and will continue to support Australian children year after year through the Foundation. |
2014 | Microelectronic Solutions achieves ISO9001:2008 certification. |
2015 | BOC Healthcare selects Microelectronic to supply and deploy an on-line processing system based on biometric electronic signatures for their nationwide operations. |
Microelectronic undertakes its first sponsorship for the Westpac Helicopters Rescue Service, the Sir David Martin Foundation and the St Vincent De Paul CEO Sleepout. | |
2016 | ARCA Technologies of the USA merges and acquires CTS of Italy. Microelectronic becomes the country distributor for ARCA. |
2017 | Microelectronic Solutions achieves ISO9001:2015 certification. |

2020 | Microelectronic Solutions achieves PCIPIN V.3.0 accreditation as Key Injection Service Provider |
